The Unitech PA550 pairs rugged industrial construction with smart phone functionality, making this durable handheld well suited for sales automation and field service applications. The Unitech PA550 is designed to perform under harsh conditions. It features a rugged enclosure that is able to resist water and dust and withstand 4-foot drops to concrete. Despite its compact size, the PA550 is an extremely powerful mobile device. It is powered by a high-speed 806MHz Marvell processor and Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system. The PA550 has a QWERTY keypad with programmable hot keys, an exceptional battery life for extended device runtime, an auto-focus 5.0 megapixel camera with flash allowing users to take photos and video for proof of service applications, and a 1D laser scanner.The PA550 features a sunlight readable display for easy viewing in outdoor environments. The Blanview® transmissive LCD requires minimal power consumption to help users go an entire shift without recharging. The PA550's Smart Light Sensor technology detects ambient light to automatically adjust screen brightness without manual configuration.
High-speed 3.5G WAN, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS capabilities allow the PA550 to meet the demands of today's mobile business applications. For global positioning applications, the PA550 uses the Ublox NEO-5Q Professional GPS module with KickStart® technology. Even under weak signaling conditions, the GPS module provides accelerated startup, acquisition, and tracking.
