The General Dynamics Itronix GD300 is a small wearable computer that combines rugged computing, communications technology, and commercial GPS into a single device. The fully rugged, arm- or chest-worn GD300 computer weighs less than 8 ounces and is designed to offer access to tactical networks and improve situational awareness. It meets military standards(MIL-STD 810G) for impact, rain and water ingress, vibration and shock, temperature extremes, dust ingress, and humidity.With the Android-based operating system, the GD300 easily accommodates current and emerging applications for military, first responders, and commercial field service users. The GD300 has a 3.5-inch (800 x 480 pixel) WVGA sunlight-readable display with a resistive touch screen that is glove friendly. It is powered by a 600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 core that optimizes battery life and performance. The GD300 has 256MB DDR memory and 8GB On-board Flash. Communications features include an integrated SIRF Star III GPS and a high-gain quadrifilar-helix antenna. The GD300's optional radio interface kit connects to the bottom of the unit and is designed to work within the United States military's joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS) architecture for data communication and network access. It offers access to a secure, jam-resistant communications network used for almost real-time tactical information.
