The Panasonic Toughbook U1 (also known as the CF-U1) is an Ultra-Mobile rugged computer that has revolutionized the rugged computer industry. The CF-U1 rugged UMPC uses the Atom processor by Intel which is a low heat processor that can run Windows XP or Windows 7. The Panasonic Toughbook U1 is also unique in that it uses hot-swappable twin batteries with a total battery life of 9 hours. Fully rugged and weighing less than 2.5 pounds, the Panasonic Toughbook U1 is sure to replace the standard handheld computer.Rated IP65 and MIL-STD-810G, the Panasonic Toughbook U1 can take a 4-foot drop. It has a magnesium alloy cage chassis, a removable solid state hard drive and a sealed all-weather design to protect this rugged UMPC from rain, spills, dust and vibration. With so many features, the Panasonic Toughbook U1 is the perfect tool for a rough day out in the field.
The Panasonic Toughbook U1 comes standard with a sunlight viewable display, anti-reflective screen treatment, LED backlighting, touchscreen LCD, SD card slot, USB port and Bluetooth. Some popular upgrade options are integrated mobile broadband wireless for use with Sprint or Verizon, integrated GPS, 2 megapixel camera, barcode scanner and expansion module.
Another great add-on to all of the Panasonic Toughbooks is the security product Computrace. You no longer have to worry about your computer getting lost or stolen. The optional Computrace product is embedded deep within your computer and when stolen or lost can be tracked through an online system. The Computrace people will go as far as to send law enforcement out to retrieve your computer. Think of it as a LoJack for your computer.
Panasonic Toughbook U1 (CF-U1) models come loaded with Windows XP Professional, we have also included a Windows 7 upgrade in the box so that when you are ready to upgrade you can do so without the need to purchase an operating system license from Microsoft.
