Product Summary
The Getac A790 is a fully ruggedized and customizable mobile computer. Its ruggedization features include a sealed die-cast magnesium alloy casing that not only provides superior durability, but is also water and dust resistant and meets the IP-54 standard. The Getac A790 meets and exceeds the stringent MIL-SPEC 810G standards as well and is suitable for use under the toughest operating conditions and in the harshest of environments. The Getac A790 is ideal for use in fields such as the military, emergency services, public safety, law enforcement, warehousing and field maintenance.The Getac A790 offers solid performance with an optional second battery that extends the battery performance time up to 6 hours. Its Intel Core Duo processor runs 1.6GGHz and it can accommodate up to 1GB of high-speed memory. Two high-resolution XGA display sizes are available (12.1" or 14.1"), with an optional touch screen display.
The Getac A790's offers flexibility which derives from its three-spindle design and the impressive array of functional modules that can be plugged into its two drive bays. The first bay can accommodate a full range of optical disk drives, including combo drives and DVD-RW drives, as well as a second hard disk drive or floppy disk drive. The second bay supports a second PCMCIA slot, COM port module, DGPS module, second battery, and wireless modem (for GSM/GPRS). Moreover, expansion modules are extremely easy to swap in and out, making the Getac A790 an extraordinarily versatile mobile computing powerhouse. The Getac A790 also offers an optional bottom – mounted expansion unit that accommodates two PCI or ISA expansion cards, enabling an even greater range of custom solutions to be implemented for meeting the most specialized requirements.
